PRESIDIANS SEEK BLESSING OF ‘NAVDURGA’ ON 'NAVRATRI'
Festival of Navratri is full of lights, joy and festivity celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm throughout India. As the name suggests, Navratri means nine nights and on the tenth day Goddess Durga is immersed in holy water after pooja. To celebrate the festival of Navaratri students of grade Prep conducted special Assembly wherein they spoke few lines telling everybody how and why Navratri is celebrated and how Goddess Durga and Lakshmi help people when they are in trouble. Presidians also performed the Garba Dance on the song ‘Nagada sang dhol baje’. Students were very excited and participated enthusiastically.
BEST OUT OF WASTE ACTIVITY: PRESIDIANS LEARN THE CONCEPT OF REUSE
Best out of Waste activity encourages students to reuse unused products and teach them the importance of resources and their optimum utilisation. Keeping this in mind, the Academy for creativity, 'Out of the Box' organised an Intra-class Best out of waste competition for students of grade 1 to 3 wherein students enjoyed their work and came up with different ideas to reuse things. They prepared very creative and innovative models and art items from different waste materials. The activity enhanced creative skill of the students and imbibed values like preservation, recycling, optimum utilisation, reduce and reuse while undertaking the noble act of caring for the environment.
WORLD GIRL CHILD DAY: SPREADING THE MESSAGE OF GENDER EQUALITY
The International Day of the Girl Child is celebrated annually on October 11 to raise awareness about discrimination against girls and violations of their human rights To promote the cause, Presidians conducted a special assembly on ‘Save the Girl Child’. The young leaders talked about the importance of girls’ right to equal education and their fundamental freedoms followed by motivational thoughts shared through placards. With spectacular performances, the students encouraged everyone to raise awareness about the different types of social discrimination and exploitation that girls face in their life and actively participate to build a better future for all. Through this assembly, Presidium successfully fulfilled it’s aim of creating socially responsible citizens.
PRESIDIANS PAY THEIR GRATITUDE ON WORLD GRATITUDE DAY
We must be grateful for any and all conditions of peace, and invest ourselves in their unfolding. Living gratefully helps us to know and create peace from the inside out. We focus on cultivating emotional, physical and mental states that embody peace, and we become better human beings. On the occasion of World Gratitude Day Presidium Palam Vihar organised a special assembly to thank all those who play a part in our lives. The students told the assembly that when we are grateful, “less is more” to us; we are more content and experience sufficiency more readily. Presidium imbibes such teachings of gratitude in students. Towards the end, students thanked their grandparent for their stories, parents and siblings for their immense love, teachers for unconditional support, helpers for support and care and neighbours for helping us when in need.
STORY READING COMPETITION: PRESIDIANS DEVELOP GOOD READING HABITS
‘Inside each of us is a natural-born storyteller, waiting to be released.’ Children have an innate love of stories. Stories create magic and a sense of wonder. They teach us about life, about ourselves and about others. Students of grades 1 to 3 turned into storytellers at the Intra Class Story telling competition.
Our young learners shared an extraordinary variety of fables and fairy tales. It was a good activity to enhance students’ expression of thoughts and feelings. It was indeed a wonderful display of knowledge, fluency and understanding by the young Presidians.
PRESIDIANS SHOWCASE THEIR DANCING SKILL AT INTERCLASS COMPETITION
‘Dancing …is like dreaming with your feet!’ Dance is the hidden language of the soul of the body. It is a creative expression of one’s self. To acquaint Presidians with the importance and different forms of dance, a Dance Competition was organised for the students of grades Nursery and Prep under the banner of the Rhythm or the Soul academy. Students participated ardently in the event and performed beautifully on diverse dance styles like Bhangra, Salsa, Classical and Hip-hop. It was an entertaining event and a great learning experience for the students.
YOUNG PRESIDIANS RECREATE LIFE OF GANDHI ON GANDHI JAYANTI
Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Presidium Palam Vihar with a special assembly. The assembly of the Primary section began with the enactment of the ‘Dandi March’ as the students entered the hall sloganeering ‘Vande Matram’. Students shared anecdotes from Gandhiji’s life and the theatrical performance showcased various contributions made by Bapu in India’s freedom struggle. The choir group presented a song glorifying Gandhiji and how he heralded a new era for our country. Bapu’s favourite devotional song ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ was played in the campus to inculcate the values of a simple man leading a noble life.

प्रेसीडीअंस ने उत्साहपूर्वक हिंदी दिवस का आयोजन किया
प्रेसिडियम स्कूल के प्रांगण में कक्षा II के छात्रों ने हिन्दी दिवस को संगीत तथा अभिनय आदि कौशलों व गतिविधियों के माध्यम से समझा| 14 सितंबर 1949 को संविधान सभा ने हिंदी को राजभाषा का दर्जा दिया था, तभी से 14 सितंबर को हिंदी दिवस मनाया जाता है। हिन्दी दिवस का उद्देश्य विश्व में हिन्दी के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए वातावरण निर्मित करना, हिन्दी के प्रति अनुराग पैदा करना, हिन्दी की दशा के लिए जागरूकता पैदा करना तथा हिन्दी को विश्व भाषा के रूप में प्रस्तुत करना है | इन गतिविधियों के माध्यम से हिंदी विषय को संगीत तथा अभिनय आदि कौशलों से जोड़ा गया जो उनके लिए नया अनुभव था |छात्रों ने वर्तमान समय में हिन्दी की महत्ता,आवश्यकता को जाना तथा समझा| छात्रों ने इस विशेष आयोजन के माध्यम से विश्व हिन्दी दिवस के बारे में तो जाना ही साथ ही कई नई विधाओं के विषय में भी ज्ञान अर्जित किया जो अवलोकनीय है |
WATER WHEEL ACTIVITY: INTERESTING WAY TO LEARN WATER CONSERVATION
Water resources are crucial because water is needed for life to exist. The uses of water include agricultural, industrial, household, recreational and environmental activities. Storing water is a good survival skill to learn as it is our planet’s most precious resource and should never, ever be wasted. Also, it is important to have water for drinking, cooking food and personal hygiene. Keeping this in mind, a Water Wheel activity was organised at Presidium Palam Vihar. Students of grade Prep learned numerous ways to store water effectively along with the concept of storing water in different containers and also to measure the quantity of water stored. Students rotated the wheel and identified the container and the quantity of water stored in the container. They were excited and enthusiastic about the activity.
