On the first day of session 2019-20,  students were welcomed with great zeal and enthusiasm.  The day started with the blessings of the Almighty. Then the students showed their creativity on 'All About Me Posters' in which they add about themselves, including their birthdays, goals, promises, favorite food and favorite things to do. This served a new bond between students and teachers. Auspicious beginning marked the celebration of happiness, connectivity and a strong bond.

CELEBRATING LOVE,HAPPINESS AND ONENESS ON THE FESTIVAL OF HOLI!

Holi is a festival of colors celebrated every year. It is also known as the festival of love, joy, happiness, unity, renewal and triumph. Through an informative and joyful assembly students of grade 1 and 2  spread the message of vibrant colours indicating joy, love and happiness to each other. The day was holistic as the juniors depicted the story of a demon, Holika and her brother, king of Hiranyakashipu and strong believe of his son Prahlad. Happy holi from the ever so energetic Presidians.

Gratitude is the feeling and attitude of appreciation and thankfulness for the good and blessings that we receive in life. Scientists have proven that when we express our gratefulness towards other people, we tend to feel happier, calmer and as a result, it opens up more channels for goodness to enter into our lives. As kindness and success starts from home, students of grade 3 created their family photo frames to express their gratitude towards their family. The outcome was beautifully reflected in three words 'Gratitude changes everything'.

PRESIDIANS PRESENT WONDERFUL STORIES AT STORYTELLING COMPETITION

Storytelling forms a crucial part in developing a child’s overall personality.  Children all over the world love listening to stories. By telling stories that come with a meaningful message, you can definitely inculcate qualities like wisdom, courage, honesty, etc. from an early age into the little one. Presidium believes in creating such opportunities for our kids so that learning comes along with having fun. We recently held a storytelling session for the students wherein they wrote wonderful stories and presented them in front of the class. It was a great learning experience for the students.

PRESIDIANS PLANT A SAPLING AS PART OF TBL THEME ‘GARDEN’

Put the soil into the container and press it securely around the root. It will keep the plant straight, erect and the water will not stagnate. Water the sapling, or else it will die. Protect it and if need be, remove  weeds as and when they grow. Provide it adequate sunlight.  Above lines documented the learning of scholars. ‘Plant a sapling in container of your choice', activity was conducted in grade 3 for the culmination of their TBL theme 'Garden'. Students planted and shared their responsibility in taking care of their respective saplings. The display of environment and awareness highlighted the concern for global warming and small measures which the leaders of tomorrow focus to live a happy and healthy life.

PRESIDIANS BRING LAURELS AT THE ALCIS FAMILY RUN EVENT

Alcis Family Run organised by Alcis Sports at Ambience mall, Gurgaon was a fun event which emphasised on keeping fit and running together with family members, colleagues and friends. Sachit Malik of grade 3 and his brother Kunal Malik of grade 6 ran together and covered a good distance of 5 Km. They were appreciated for their enthusiasm and were awarded with medals and certificates for their achievement. We congratulate the two budding sportspersons!

PRESIDIANS TURN PUPPETEERS AS THEY SHOWCASED THEIR CRAFT SKILLS!

A puppet is an object often resembling a human, animal or a mythical figure, that is animated or manipulated by a person called puppeteer. Presidium Palam Vihar recently organised a Puppet Making Competition for the students of Grade 4 and 5. The little puppeteers used their creativity and imagination. They choose various themes and used all waste material like colour paper, ice cream sticks, gloves and velvet cloth. The fun filled competition encouraged their craftsmanship and artfulness.

SHIVRATRI: INVOKING THE BENIGN BLESSINGS OF LORD SHIVA!

MahaShivratri is an Indian festival celebrated every year in reverence to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Students  put forth a colourful presentation on this occasion . Dressed in beautiful attire, they danced on the bhajans 'Shivji bhihane chale' and 'Saare gaon se dudh manga kar' in the assembly. The performance by little Presidians made the students understand and appreciate the ideologies behind Lord Shiva and MahaShivratri.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT OUR SOLAR SYSTEM WITH A FUN ACTIVITY!

With the aim of providing exposure to the students about solar system and movement of the planets around the sun, an activity was recently conducted for the students of grade 5. Students were asked to become sun and planets and enact the movement of the celestial bodies. The students who became planet were trying to explain the movement of the earth around the sun and how days and night and seasons are formed. The objective behind the activity was to clear the concept of motion of the earth. The pedagogy of Experiential learning helped in connecting with complex concepts and made it easier for students to understand.
