SPREADING THE MESSAGE OF HEALTH & SAFETY ON WORLD AIDS DAY
School plays a critical role in promoting the health and safety of young people. schools provide an opportunity to millions of students to learn about the dangers of unhealthy behaviours and to practice skills that promote a healthy lifestyle. Keeping with this endeavour, Presidium Palam Vihar conducted a special assembly on World AIDS Day. A theatrical performance educated students about how AIDS is spread and the measures to be safe were discussed. The assembly put forward the message of being safe than sorry.
PRESIDIANS LEARN THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE ON APPRECIATION DAY
With an aim to impart the attitude of gratitude, Appreciation day was recently celebrated by the students of grade Nursery. Students showed gratitude to their friends as they stood in a circle. With the help of activities, Presidians learnt the etiquette of appreciating others as one of them. This activity generated immense pleasure amongst students and also got to know the hidden potential for which they were being appreciated.
CELEBRATING WORLD DISABILITY DAY TO HONOR THE SPECIAL SOULS
World Disability Day is day of international observance to promote awareness about people with disabilities as well as to encourage them to enhance their way of life. With an aim to remove the social stigma associated with the cause, a special assembly was conducted by the students. Students encouraged their peers to take on the cause to to improve their self-esteem, well being and help them with their rights. It was a very informative and noble initiative taken up by the students.
PRESIDIANS INVOKE ALMIGHTY’S BLESSINGS ON GURPURAB
Guru Nanak Jayanti, also known as Guru Nanak’s Prakash Utsav, was celebrated with great zest and zeal at Presidium Palam Vihar. Students of grades Nursery and 3 performed beautifully and enlivened te premise with vibrant colours and a festive spirit. Students recited prayers invoking the blessings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji along with an energetic dance performance. Speeches were given talking about the history of the Sikh religion and significance of Gurupurab. Towards the end of the assembly, students pledge to imbibe and spread the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
THANK YOU BRAHMA KUMARIS FOR A TRANQUIL MEDITATION SESSION
Presidium Palam Vihar recently invited the Brahma Kumaris to inspire its students to lead a life of purity and spirituality. The event was graced by honourable Chairperson Mrs. Sudha Gupta and Saluja ji. The Brahma Kumaris conducted a spiritual meditation session that the students can also perform in their everyday lives. The staff and students of Presidium Palam Vihar were delighted to be blessed by the Brahma Kumaris. It was a day of enlightenment and self discovery for one and all present there.
PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE WORLD KINDNESS DAY WITH ACTS OF BENEVOLENCE
The students of Presidium Palam Vihar celebrated the World Kindness Day with great enthusiasm and excitement. A special assembly was conducted, where students talked about the origin of the day and the impact of spreading peace and harmony in the world through a simple act of kindness. Students were encouraged to help a friend in need, spread smiles and laughter in people’s life and never do any harm to others intentionally. It was a great day where students learned about how kindness never goes wasted
TEACHERS MAKE CHILDREN'S DAY A MEMORABLE ONE FOR THE STUDENTS
Childhood is one of the most special and memorable phase of our lives and to celebrate this spirit of childhood, Presidium Palam Vihar conducted a special assembly to celebrate Children’s Day. To honour Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, a speech was presented telling students about our first Prime Minister and his love for children. Teachers organised various activities and performances to make this day a memorable one for the students.
DIWALI FESTIVITIES FILLS THE AIR WITH CELEBRATORY FERVOUR
Diwali is a festival of lights and every Indian celebrates it with joy. During this festival, people light up their houses and shops. They worship Lord Ganesha for welfare and prosperity and Goddess Lakshmi for wealth and wisdom. Diwali spirit reigned the premises of Presidium Palam Vihar and was ushered in by a special assembly presented by the students of grades 7 & 8. The theme was presented beautifully, through a scene depicting the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. It was followed by an beautiful dance performance. The assembly culminated with the message of celebrating a pollution free Diwali. A special club activity of Diya Decoration was also conducted for the students of grades 1 to 3. Students pasted mirrors and stars to make diyas more beautiful and displayed their creative expression in the process.
'SAY NO TO CRACKERS' RALLY ORGANISED AMIDST DIWALI CELEBRATIONS
Diwali is the celebration of spreading love and happiness. With an aim to sensitize their friends and teachers about the ill effects of celebrating Diwali without burning of firecrackers, the young leaders of tomorrow organised a rally on the theme of ‘saying no to crackers’. Slogans of celebrating an eco-friendly Diwali were echoing through the streets. The participation of the young Presidians was overwhelming. The rally was organised with an aim to create awareness regarding the hazardous level of air pollution and environmental degradation that is caused by crackers.
WORLD FOOD DAY: PRESIDIANS PLEDGE TO ERADICATE WORLD HUNGER
‘The preparation of good food is merely another expression of art, one of the joys of civilised living.’ World Food Day is a day of action, dedicated to tackling global hunger. Held annually on 16th October, people from around the world come together to declare their commitment to eradicate world hunger. At Presidium Palam Vihar, the students of grade 4 celebrated World Food Day through a special assembly to promote awareness and action for those who suffer from hunger and for the need to ensure food security and nutritious diets for all. The assembly put forth the message that food is a basic and fundamental human right encouraging the students to not waste food with the students pledging to do their bit in eradicating world hunger.
